The buyout saves the Rangers just over $5 Million this season, with the remaining $1,483,833 still counting against their salary cap. The cap hit will escalate to more than $6 mill for the 2020-21 season, with only $566,667 in savings.
The Rangers will also absorb $1,433,333 in dead cap space for both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.
